Manchester City confirm Jesus Navas will leave the club next month when his contract expires

Spanish winger to depart the Etihad following Pablo Zabaleta and Gael Clichy out of the exit door

MANCHESTER CITY have confirmed that Jesus Navas will leave the club this summer.

The Spanish winger is the third departure to be announced by the Citizens following Pablo Zabaleta’s last week and Gael Clichy‘s earlier today.

Navas now looks set to return to Sevilla, whom he left for the Etihad in a £15million in 2013.

After spending the first half of the season on the sidelines, the veteran had finally appeared to have found favour under Pep Guardiola in recent months.

He had been deployed at right-back for City.

His impressive displays had led many to believe that the 31-year-old would be offered a new deal.

However, Guardiola seems to have opted to go for a full overhaul in the position.

Bacary Sagna is also expected to depart the club this summer.

City football director Txiki Begiristain told : “Working with Jesus has been a pleasure.

“His hard work, dedication, professionalism and desire to win have been apparent every single day.

“He showed his versatility numerous times this season, operating at full-back and doing so with distinction.

“I wish him all the very best with his next move.”

Navas played 178 goals and scored eight goals for the Blues.

The Spain international won the Premier League and two League Cups during his time in the north west.
