Boss Pep Guardiola is now looking at Tottenham star Danny Rose and Schalke ace Sead Kolasinac as replacements for Clichy.

On Clichy's City career, football director Txiki Begiristain said: "Gael has been an important player for this football club and I want to wish him well for the future.

“Since my first day here, he has been an outstanding in the way he has applied himself, both in games and in training.

“He has been a key part in some special moments for this football club and for that he will always be remembered fondly.”

Clichy had joined Man City from Arsenal in 2011 for just £7million and won the club's first-ever Premier League title that same season.

However, he had fallen behind Aleksandar Kolarov in the pecking order and is now set to move on to find first-team football.
