“He is and will be the best player I ever saw! #Respect”

Totti is nearing the end of his 25th season at the Serie A giants in the Italian capital.

He has made almost 785 appearances for Roma and is arguably the finest players in the club’s history.

The 40-year-old could well be about to call time on his career.

There has still been no official announcement from him about his future.

Totti has not been offered a new deal at Roma, but has been offered a six-year contract in a directorial post at the Olympic Stadium.

It appears that retirement is the most-likeliest option for the attacker, with his place already secured in the hearts of Roma supporters.

He helped the club to win the title in 2001 and has also lifted the Coppa Italia in 2007 and 2008.

Totti was also part of the Italy squad that lifted the World Cup in 2006.
