Chelsea centre-back John Terry bizarrely taken off after 26 minutes against Sunderland and given a guard of honour… sending Twitter into meltdown
The 36-year-old has played his last ever game for the Blues, putting a halt to 22 years of service with the West Londoners
JOHN TERRY was taken off in just the 26th minute at Stamford Bridge in his final game for Chelsea as he left the pitch in tears.
The Blues legend didn't even make it to half-time as he was substituted when the score was at 1-1 against Sunderland, leaving fans stunned.
Terry announced earlier on in the season he would not be staying on past this campaign, putting an end to 22 years of service for the West Londoners.
Wearing the number 26 during his time with Chelsea, Antonio Conte replaced him in that same minute, with the Chelsea players giving him a guard of honour.
The centre-back who picked up his fifth Premier League winners medal left the pitch with tears in his eyes as he was applauded by not only his team-mates, but the whole ground.
