Arsenal cult hero Lukas Podolski trolls rivals Tottenham with hilarious Twitter ‘tribute’ to White Hart Lane

Spurs fans said emotional farewell on Sunday and German was determined to remind them of his favourite moments

LUKAS PODOLSKI has trolled Tottenham fans with an alternative tribute to White Hart Lane.

Spurs signed off from the iconic stadium in style with a 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Emotional supporters and former players have recounted tales classic encounters at the north London ground, which was their home for 118 years.

And the moment was not lost on former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski – who took to Twitter to recall his own fondest memories of the Lane.

Unfortunately, it is one that Tottenham fans would much rather forget.

Goals from Harry Kane and Victor Wanyama against United helped Spurs go unbeaten in the Premier League in their goodbye campaign at White Hart Lane.

That run included a 2-0 success over Arsenal last month – which secured they would finish above their arch-rivals for the first time in 22 seasons.

But the Gunners have their fair share of success at the ground over the years, including the day they sealed the title in 2004.

And Podolski , 31, posted a montage of snaps of Arsene Wenger and the legendary ‘Invincibles’ celebrating that success – as well as a snap of his own 1-0 victory in March 2014.

The German, who spent three seasons at Arsenal after joining from Cologne in 2012, wrote: “Thanks White Hart Lane for the great memories”.

He had suffered a 2-1 defeat 12 months earlier – but that result goes unmentioned.

Tottenham will play their home fixtures at Wembley next season before moving into their brand new £750million 61,000-seater stadium in time for the 2018-19 campaign.
