Arsenal are understood to be willing to pay the 28-year-old a mammoth £300,000 per week to get him to stay, having scored his 50th Premier League goal at the weekend against Stoke.

Under-fire boss Arsene Wenger - himself unsure of his own future - has privately said he is confident his man will sign the new deal.

And Arsenal fans believe his body language is of a man who is staying, furiously pounding the club badge, pointing to himself and then the ground having scored his side’s third goal at Stoke on Saturday.

But there are a whole host of top European sides who are after the dazzling forward, including PSG, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Juventus.

And Cavani, who has lit up Ligue 1 and the Champions League since joining PSG from Napoli in 2013, has said Sanchez would be welcome - as would Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Some might think Cavani's position up top would be under threat with the acquisition of the pair - but he seems to relish the prospect of being part of such a potentially lethal strike force.

He told : "If they come, they are welcome. We always hope that new players complete the team with their qualities.

"As for what the club is missing, I will never tell you. For me, my team-mates are the best."
