Brazil side Vasco Under-17’s team bus crashes leaving five injured, reports claim
Incident happened on their way back from a game in Rio de Janeiro
FIVE members of Vasco's Under-17 side have been left injured after their team bus crashed in Rio de Janeiro.
The Brazilian side were reportedly travelling back from their match against Friburguense when the accident occurred.
According to Brazil publication Esporte, around 30 people were on board as doctors rushed to the scene to give aid to the wounded.
It is believed but not confirmed that the breaks on the coach failed, leaving the vehicle to plough into the back of a truck before turning on its side.
In an interview with BandNews FM, a doctor at a hospital where the players were taken said the most delicate case was Douglas Carvalho who had to undergo surgery on a broken femur.
A statement posted by Vasco suggested that no players or staff were critically injured following the crash.
