LIVERPOOL are keen on Chelsea flop Mo Salah if they cannot get Julian Brandt.

Brandt is Jurgen Klopp’s top target this summer but a £25million deal has stalled over the German’s concerns about playing time.

But the Bayer Leverkusen winger, 20, will only move if he is guaranteed he will be a first-team regular.

And with Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho also vying for places in Klopp’s front three, Brandt knows he may not play a starring role at Anfield.

Speaking to German site Focus, he confirmed: “If you make the move, there is no guarantee that you'll play.

“I believe that it's important that I get a lot of games next season, and that is a given here at Leverkusen.”

And Klopp has identified Roma midfielder Salah as an ideal back-up option.

Liverpool were in for the Egyptian in January 2014 before he eventually elected to join Chelsea in a doomed £11m deal.

Salah, 24, made just 13 Premier League appearances for the Blues before being sent on loan to the Eternal City last campaign.

He then signed a permanent deal with the Italians last summer – and has been a revelation, netting 13 goals and making 10 assists in Serie A.

That form means Klopp will need to bid in the region £20m to tempt Roma to do business.

Arsenal contract rebel Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also on the Reds boss’s shortlist.
