CRYSTAL PALACE will go head-to-head with West Brom this summer for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.
The England international has struggled for game time this season, and things have got worse since the £14million arrival of Manolo Gabbiadini in January.
Rodriguez, 27, signed new four-year deal in 2015, after speculation he could follow former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham.
Saints boss Claude Puel could cut his losses and move the former Burnley man on, with Charlie Austin and Shane Long ahead of Rodriguez in the St Mary's pecking order.
Palace and the Baggies are battling it out for Rodriguez, with both clubs in desperate need of additional firepower next season.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis has had to rely on organisation and his defence this season, with Saloman Rondan and Hal Robson-Kanu with just nine Premier League goals between them.
Goals have been an issue at Selhurst Park, Christian Benteke is the only player into double figures in the Premier League.
