Jack Wilshere went off injured in a blow for the Cherries and Arsenal

JACK WILSHERE’s injury jinx has struck again after scans appeared to show he has broken his leg.

The England midfielder was told the bad news on Tuesday after a second CT scan on the injury he suffered to his left ankle in a tackle with Harry Kane during Bournemouth’s 4-0 defeat at Tottenham last Saturday.

The scan showed a crack in his left fibula - the same area of the joint which was fractured in August 2015 and forced the on-loan Arsenal star to miss the majority of last season.

Wilshere, 25, underwent an initial X-ray which did not show any break before he had further checks.

The news comes as a devastating blow to Wilshere, who had remained largely injury free during his loan spell at Bournemouth this season.

Wilshere was initially hopeful it was a minor knock after leaving White Hart Lane with his ankle in a protective boot but scans have revealed the real damage.

He is still due to undergo further tests and will see a specialist in the coming days.

Wilshere will now miss the rest of the season and is expected to return to Arsenal to complete his latest rehabilitation programme.

The midfielder’s future is limbo with his current Arsenal deal due to expire at the end of next season.

With only five matches remaining, the Cherries anticipate Wilshere has played his last game for the club unless his loan is made permanent.

Eddie Howe’s side are seven points above the drop zone and still not clear of danger.
