Jamie Vardy jokes ‘is it bring your father to work day?’ after spotting Peter Schmeichel at club’s training ground
Striker was in good spirits ahead of the Foxes' Champions League encounter with Atletico Madrid
LEICESTER CITY have the biggest game in their history on Tuesday when they host Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
But nerves looked non-existent as the team arrived for training at their Belvoir Drive complex.
Waiting for them was Kasper Schmeichel's dad, Peter, who was being interviewed at the ground.
And striker Jamie Vardy saw it as the perfect opportunity to land a sly dig at the Schmeichel duo.
The Manchester United legend shook hands his son and Robert Huth before Vardy shouted: "Is it bring your father to work day? Is that what it is?"
An amused Peter replied "it is" before continuing with his interview.
But Vardy and his team-mates will be getting down to business as they look to overturn a 1-0 deficit at the King Power Stadium.
And the England international has earned himself new admirers in Leicester's campaign including Atletico's Diego Godin who says the speed merchant would get into Diego Simeone's team.
A controversial Antoine Griezmann penalty separated the two sides in the first-leg but the Foxes are fully aware that they have won every home match in the Champions League on their remarkable run.
