Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki, sat next to Marc Bartra, explains team-mates’ reactions after explosion on bus
BORUSSIA DORTMUND goalkeeper, Roman Burki, explained how he and his team-mates had to duck for cover following an explosion around the bus.
He was sat next to Marc Barta, who was immediately rushed to hospital.
The Bundesliga side were due to play the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Monaco.

But the match was called off and rearranged following a reports of the explosion.

Speaking to German website, , Burki said: “We left the hotel at 7:15pm and just went down the street.
“The bus then turned down the main street and there was a massive explosion.
“I was sitting in the back row next to Marc Bartra, who was hit by fragments of broken glass.
“After the bang, we all ducked and some threw themselves to the ground.
“We were unaware of what had happened, but the police were quick on the spot and we were safe.
“We are all in shock and no one thought about the football in his moment.”
The match has been rearranged to 5:45pm on April 12.
And Dortmund have generously offered to refund tickets for those who are unable to make it.
