Everton transfer news: Cuco Martina eyed as Seamus Coleman cover as Ronald Koeman lines up summer reunion

Defender was an unexpected hit at Southampton under the Dutchman and they could now be set to link up once again

EVERTON are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Southampton ace Cuco Martina as they look to fill the gap left by Seamus Coleman’s horror injury.

The Ireland international suffered a broken leg following a horrific tackle by Neil Taylor in last month’s 0-0 draw with Wales.

Coleman is now set to miss at least six months of action after undergoing surgery in Dublin, and Ronald Koeman is now looking for a new right-back to bring to Goodison Park.

Mason Holgate has been filling the position as Everton switch between three-man and four-man defences, while SunSport understands Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier is under consideration.

The defender was a surprise hit at St Mary’s last season after being snapped up by Koeman and he is set to become a free agent when his contract expires in July.

In the meantime, Everton will be looking to assist Coleman in any way possible as he recovers from his setback.
