FORMER Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka could be set for a swift return to the game by taking charge of Algeria.
Reports in North Africa claim that the Spaniard is in the running to become the boss of the Desert Foxes.
Karanka left Boro in March after a miserable run of form saw the club slide to second bottom in the table.

However, Algerian website posted a tweet linking the 43-year-old with the position.
The post, when translated into English, read: “We proclaim in the conditional, of course, but the next coach of the Algeria would be Aitor Karanka.”

Algeria are looking for new manager following Georges Leekens’ resignation in January.
He left his position after the nation’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Algeria’s players include Leicester star Riyad Mahrez and Boro midfielder Adlene Guedioura, who Karanka signed from Watford during the January transfer window.
Karanka has been keeping a low-profile since leaving the Riverside.
He was in the hotseat on Teesside for three-and-a-half years and led the club back to the Premier League last season.
