A statement on the club website reads: "Granada CF want to thank the personal and professional commitment of Lucas Alcaraz and his coaching staff, as well as his dedication during the months that he has been in charge of the team and wishes him the best of luck for the future."
Adams, who made 669 appearances for Arsenal and was captain at the club for 14 years, won ten major trophies during his stint in north London.
In late March this year, he was appointed as Sporting Director, and just two weeks later he has been tasked with a monumental challenge.
The 50-year-old hasn't exactly had a successful managerial career thus far.
He spent a year as manager at Wycombe, but was unable to halt their slide into League Two.
After resigning from Wycombe, he spent time coaching and scouting at Dutch outfit Feyenoord before joining up with Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth.
When Redknapp left Fratton Park to take over at Tottenham, Adams was appointed as manager, but just 16 games later he was sacked.
Adams' next managerial role was with Azerbaijani club Gabala, but left after a year-and-a-half in charge.
