ANTOINE GRIEZMANN'S dramatic late equaliser salvaged a point for the visitors to end Real Madrid's seven-match winning streak.

Out of nowhere, the Frenchman latched onto a through ball and his left-footed strike nestled in the near post with just six minutes remaining.

Pepe's stunning second half header looked to have handed Real Madrid all three points when he latched onto Toni Kroos' cross.

The Portuguese's goal was fully deserved as Atletico stopper Jan Oblak was kept on his toes throughout producing a string on scintillating saves.

The draw means Zinedine Zidane's side are just three points clear of Barcelona at the top of the table as the race for the title heats up.

Atletico were playing on the break and Antoine Griezmann almost stunned the Bernabeu when his long ranged effort was clawed wide by Keylor Navas.

But it was only after the goal that Simeone’s side showed more attacking threat.

Fernando Torres spurned their best chance with 60 minutes on the clock after striking the feet of Navas when put through on goal.

Joaquin Correa was introduced into the frame as Atletico searched for an equaliser but the home side's defence was standing firm.
