Arsenal transfer news: Jordan Pickford lined up to replace Petr Cech as Gunners scout Sunderland star
Gunners have leaked 36 goals in the Premier League this season and are looking to land new goalkeeper in summer shakeup
ARSENAL have reportedly been scouting Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford as they look to replace Petr Cech this summer.
The Gunners have shipped 36 goals in the league this season, more than any other side in the top seven bar Liverpool.
And with Arsene Wenger apparently set to sign a new contract ahead of a huge squad revamp, it seems that error-prone Cech is on his way out of the Emirates after just two years.
The claims Arsenal watched Pickford during the Black Cats’ defeat to Watford last weekend.
And although the youngster shipped a couple of goals, he made a number of great saves to impress those watching.
Pickford has already been called up to the senior England squad, and Sunderland boss David Moyes feels he’s destined for greatness.
The Scot said: “Jordan is a top young goalkeeper, and is now beginning to look like a top senior goalkeeper as well, albeit that he’s of a young age.
“He made one really good save in the first half, but more importantly, it felt as though he had a real command of his penalty box.
“If Jordan keeps up his form like he’s doing, then there’ll be few goalkeepers who can do what Jordan Pickford is doing at the moment.”
