“The players first have to see if they are happy at the club, then they have to find an agreement.”

If an agreement cannot be found with the Gunners, Sanchez has hinted his preferred option may be Chelsea if he runs down his current deal.

Reports from South America sensationally claimed Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho called the Chilean asking if he fancied a move to Old Trafford.

Sanchez said: “I am happy in London and hope to finish my contract there."

“I’d like to stay in the city but with a team that is winning things, that has a winning mentality."

Sanchez joined Arsenal from Barcelona for £35million in 2014 and has hit 22 goals for the Gunners this season.
