Leyton Orient boss Omer Riza sent off in FIRST game in charge and replaced by U16s coach as they lose 2-0 to Wycombe

Things went from bad to worse for turmoil-hit club as new chief was sent packing during debut managerial game

LEYTON ORIENT'S season fell into even MORE turmoil - as their Under-16s manager was forced to take charge against Wycombe.

O's boss Omer Riza - taking charge of his FIRST game - was sent to the stands before the second half kicked off.

It appears the 37-year-old said something to the referee at half time and was no longer allowed to stand by the touchline.

And the responsibility for the last 45 minutes fell to U16s coach Frederico Morais.

Hackney garage owner Errol McKellar, who has a "non defined role" at the club, also stepped up at assistant manager.

But neither stand-in gaffer could turn the tide to which Orient had succumbed to in the first half.

Tom Parkes was sent off for the hosts - even before his boss - after 28 minutes.

Wycombe then struck twice in two minutes through Matt Bloomfield and Myles Weston to plunge the Brisbane Road faithful into despair.

Orient is on the brink of losing its League status for the first time in nearly 140 years. It could even soon cease to exist due to outstanding debt.

Riza became the League Two club's FIFTH manager this season, following ex-boss Danny Webb's resignation after a bust-up with owner Francesco Becchetti.

The club said: "[Riza is] very determined to make sure that the team finishes the season strong and he’s looking forward for the challenge.”
