Pep Guardiola ‘bores’ Manchester City players when preparing for games, says Pablo Zabaleta

Spanish coach is incredibly intense with his players as he prepares as best as possible for their next match

PABLO ZABALETA has confessed Pep Guardiola can “bore” some of his Manchester City team-mates at the training ground as they prepare for matches.

The Argentine says they frequently are shown videos of their own game and are told how they can improve by the former Barcelona boss.

This comes after Guardiola has already banned pizzafruit juices and phones from his Premier League side since arriving in the summer.

And Zabaleta has spoke about how impressed he is with Guardiola’s preparation – even if it does bore some of his team-mates.

Speaking to , Zabaleta said: “His passion is to try always to improve, or to try to find the right way to attack.

“We watch a lot of videos, and sometimes I know it’s a bit boring for some of the players to be watching videos every day, but for the players who really love football and enjoy watching… and I’m talking about 20 minutes of video, or 25 minutes, not an hour or two hours!

“He’s always trying to improve the players and to improve the team. He likes to play out from the back and for the player on the ball to have two or three options.

“He likes always to give you solutions and information. The way he prepares for games is just fantastic.”

Following their 1-1 draw against Liverpool before the international break, Guardiola’s men prepare for another huge clash against Arsenal on Sunday.
