The 27-year-old starred in France's Euro 2016 campaign leaving Spurs to splash out the huge figure on the powerhouse as Newcastle pocketed a stunning £28m from his sale.

And despite previously being linked with Real Madrid, his time at White Hart Lane looks set to be deemed a failure as Pochettino plans to cut his losses on the midfielder.

According to French publication , Spurs are willing to listen to any offers and could be allowed to leave for around £20m.

His lack of football has also seen Sissoko dropped from the French national side despite being an ever-present in Didier Deschamps side during his time at Newcastle.

Sissoko demanded his former club sold him in order to match his ambitions of playing Champions League football.

But Pochettino has not been impressed with his work-rate and in December stated he didn't 'deserve' to be in the team. 

He said: “You sign a player then you expect something and you don’t find what you expected.

“If another deserves to be involved, he needs to work hard in future and show that he deserves to be in the team.

“Because we pay money do they deserve to be in the team?”
