AARON RAMSEY claims he is ready to shake off a nightmare season with Arsenal by firing Wales back into World Cup contention.

But Ramsey, 26, reckons he can reach new heights on the international stage, starting in tonight’s crunch World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
He insisted: “I believe I can get even better.
“I really wanted to go into that tournament and prove what I am capable of doing.
“Over a short period of time and on that level I was really happy with the way I performed. Maybe it’s the best football I have produced.”

Ramsey, who missed 2½ months at the start of the season with a hamstring injury, has made just three appearances since a calf problem he picked up in January.
The 45-cap ace added: “I’ve had another frustrating time with injuries, which is never a nice thing to go through. To get consistency is hard.
“I really wanted to kick on from what I achieved at the Euros but again I feel I have been restricted with injuries.
“I’m trying to get to the bottom of them and stay injury-free.”
Wales trail Group D leaders Ireland by four points.
Rambo added: “It’s a massive game. After what we achieved at the Euros we wanted to go again and qualify for the World Cup.
“We have shown what we are capable of doing on the big stage. Hopefully we’ll make our mark.”
