Manchester United transfer news: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could leave Arsenal for Jose Mourinho’s ambitious Red Devils
England international will not sign new Gunners deal and could be set for controversial Old Trafford switch
MANCHESTER UNITED could be set to make a shock swoop for unhappy Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports.
The winger is out of contract in 2018 but feels he’s unappreciated by boss Arsene Wenger.
And SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month that Oxlade-Chamberlain will not sign a new deal despite being regarded as a key part of their future.
Interest is sure to be high, with top-quality English players hard to come by in today’s market.
And claims that Jose Mourinho is the latest manager to express an interest in rescuing Oxlade-Chamberlain from his Arsenal hell.
The Red Devils look set to spend big once again this summer after struggling to keep pace with Chelsea in the Premier League.
And Oxlade-Chamberlain’s versatility – not to mention potential – makes him an ideal signing for the Special One.
But the Ox isn’t the only star set to leave the Emirates in July, with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez both ready to move on after becoming disillusioned by their team’s lack of silverware – and lack of fight.
The report adds that David Ospina, Nacho Monreal, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are also facing uncertain futures as Wenger looks to embark on a major rebuilding project.
