Michael Owen gets destroyed on Twitter after claiming Liverpool won the Europa League live on BT Sport
Jurgen Klopp's side went all the way to the final last season but were defeated by Sevilla
MICHAEL OWEN didn't do himself any favours towards Twitter trolls with his latest comments live on BT Sport.
The pundit claimed that Liverpool won the Europa League last year during the half-time analysis of Manchester United's clash with FC Rostov.
And although Jurgen Klopp's side got to the final, they were eventually defeated by Sevilla who won the competition for the third time in a row.

When asked about United's Europa League schedule, Owen said: "It's a difficult competition to win, you look at Liverpool winning it last season and they played some unbelievably hard teams."
And of course Twitter users saw his comments as the perfect opportunity to lay into the ex-Liverpool striker.
One user wrote: "Why do BT still pay Michael Owen actual money to say things though?"
Another wrote "@themichaelowen you never seem to amaze me. Liverpool won the Europa League last year! What a Melon."
