N’Golo Kante’s fizzer of a drive for Chelsea earns the Gillette Precision Play of the FA Cup quarter-finals
French midfielder scored the only goal as Chelsea beat Manchester United at Stamford Bridge
CHELSEA star N'Golo Kante scored a cracker to earn the Gillette Precision Play of the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Frenchman had to be utterly precise to beat an in-form David De Gea from 25 yards.
The curling drive escaped the Spaniard’s reach and crept in just inside the post to see Chelsea safely through to a semi-final showdown with Tottenham at Wembley.
We’ve made a super slo-mo replay of the exquisite goal complete with stats to show just how clinical it was.
Kante becomes the fourth winner of the prestigious Gillette Precision Play in the FA Cup this year.
But Manchester United were always on the back foot after Ander Herrera was sent off for a second yellow card in the first half.
Jose Mourinho smiled sarcastically as the Spaniard was given his marching orders near the end of the first half for a foul on Eden Hazard.
Chelsea, who had seen some great chances saved by De Gea already, then dominated the early part of the second half.
Then, in the 50th minute, Willian played a smart ball back across the front of the Manchester United box to an advancing Kante.
The midfielder took a couple of touches before sending the ball through the United defence and into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
It was enough to earn Kante the Man Of The Match award and see Chelsea through to the semis at Wembley in April.
Chelsea will take on their London rivals Tottenham in the semi finals while Arsenal face Manchester City.
