KANE AND ABLE

Tottenham ace Harry Kane is the deadliest striker in the Premier League.. and these statistics show he could soon rule European football

Kane, 23, took his tally to 19 Premier League goals for the season after his double in the 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday

HARRY KANE was the hero for Tottenham Hotspur once again on Sunday, scoring twice as they beat Everton 3-2 at White Hart Lane.

That takes his total for the season up to 19 Premier League goals, with the Spurs fans singing “He’s just a one-season-wonder” due to his excellent form over the past three campaigns.

Taking 15 of the best strikers in the top European leagues, rather than anyone who’s just popped up this season, such as Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Andrea Belotti, Spurs fans might be interested to see how Kane measures up.

Former Liverpool hero Luis Suarez leads the way with 76 goals in his last three league campaigns - not counting cup competitions.

, linked with Arsenal and Manchester City at the weekend - Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman has hit 70 goals for Lyon over the past three seasons.

Kane comes out sixth with his 65 goals, putting him ahead of Edinson Cavani, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez.

If you want to win the lottery, you have to buy a ticket and for a striker, getting off shots is arguably the most important aspect of their game.

On average, over the last three campaigns, Kane has hit 3.53 shots per game.

That puts him sixth out of our 15 strikers. In comparison, Zlatan leads the way on 4.3, followed by Manchester City’s Aguero on 4.26 and Lewandowski with 4.03.

It’s not just about firing off efforts on goal, you need to have some level of accuracy too of course.

Kane is down in eighth when it comes to placing his shots on target, averaging just 1.6 in the last three years.

That’s still above Chelsea’s Diego Costa, Antoine Griezmann - a transfer target for Manchester United - Karim Benzema and Romelu Lukaku.

Ahead of the Spurs man, Ibrahimovic again in top, the only player on our list to have over two shots on target per games. Amazing consistency over three seasons.

Dortmund’s most-wanted, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Aguero managed 1.8, then Higuain with 1.73 and Lewandowski on 1.7.

Putting that into a percentage, 45.33 per cent of Kane’s shots on goal reach their target, ranking him at ninth out of 15. Lacazette tops this area, with an outstanding 54.05 per cent.

Everton’s Lukaku, who is set to sign a new deal at Goodison Park, is second with 50.57, then Aubameyang, just behind on 50.56.

The Spurs top scorer is more accurate than Aguero, Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez. That’s what makes him so dangerous in Mauricio Pochettino’s attack.

In the modern game, teams are looking for more than just someone that can put the ball in the back of the net. If you can provide and help create goals for your team-mates, you are becoming more worthy an asset.

Kane has provided just nine assists over the last three campaigns, only Edinson Cavani on this list has managed fewer (6). Suarez has 39, an amazing return, Zlatan next with 23 and both Karim Benzema and Alexis Sanchez are level on 21.

Not Kane’s strong point, but when you have Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, plus, you are scoring the bulk of your team’s goals, it’s not an issue.

He may fall down the list in quite a few areas, but what Kane does is put the ball in the back of the net. No one has done that more in England than the 23-year-old.

Far from the peak of his career, will the others be able to keep up when the numbers are added up after another three years?
