GARETH BALE has apologised for his red card against Las Palmas.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane revealed that the Wales star said sorry to his team-mates following the 3-3 draw.
Bale was shown his first red card since joining Los Blancos after lashing out at Jonathan Viera.
The winger was seen chasing down Viera and hooking his leg around his opponent's shin before pushing him over just seconds later.
And Zidane said that Welshman Bale was still fuming with his dismissal after the game, but said sorry for cutting his side down to ten men.
He said: "He has apologised. He is not happy with the sending off.
"This can happen, it is a fact of the game and we cannot change it."
The France legend then made clear some of his own misgivings with his side.
Especially as they once again gave up their place at the top of La Liga after Barcelona smashed Sporting Gijon 6-1.
Real, on 56 points, sit one point behind Barca, but Zidane said: "I used to be happy after the matches and now I cannot be happy lately, but this is a very long season and we are going to change it."
This latest referee controversy comes after Villarreal president Fernando Roig claimed he saw official Jesus Gil Manzano carrying a bag filled with Real Madrid merchandise after Zidane's side beat the Yellow Submarine 3-2.

That result was partly down to a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty which came after a dubious handball decision.
But Zidane refused to stoke the flames regarding refs and said: "As always I will not get into the subject of the referees.
"We do not have to look for excuses of that. I look at what we can do, and I think we can do better.
"There are times of the season that are like this, already three or four games, but we cannot look for excuses with the referee."
