Aaron Ramsey returns to Arsenal training ahead of Liverpool clash… but Mesut Ozil is sent home through illness again

German international suffered flu-like symptoms but remains hopeful of a return against their top four rivals

ARSENAL star Mesut Ozil is facing a fight to be fit for Saturday's crunch clash with Liverpool.

But boss Arsene Wenger will welcome back midfielder Aaron Ramsey into the first-team squad.

Ozil was sent home from training on Wednesday by the club doctor through illness.

The Germany international, who has scored five league goals this season, remains hopeful that he will recover in time after suffering from flu-like symptoms.

The 28-year-old has been just one of the Arsenal players who have endured criticism this season for his lacklustre performances.

Another of those is Ramsey, who returned to training on Wednesday following his lengthy lay-off.

The Welshman hasn't featured since pulling a calf muscle in the 2-1 home defeat to Watford on the final day of January.

And he will be hoping to make amends with Arsenal supporters having received much of the flak for the Gunners' inconsistent performances.

Arsenal also look set to be without Mohamed Elneny who is still a couple of weeks away from full fitness.

Laurent Koscielny also remains a major doubt.
