Samir Nasri slams Arsenal players as he insists they must take blame for failure… not Arsene Wenger

SAMIR NASRI insists Arsenal players must take the blame for their recent failure, not Arsene Wenger.

The under-fire Gunners boss has seen his future called into question once again after last week’s 5-1 Champions League thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich.

That made it three defeats in four games – after losses to Watford and Chelsea saw Wenger’s side plummet TEN points behind the Premier League leaders.

But former Emirates star Nasri, 29, has defended his former boss and slammed Arsenal’s under-performing stars.

The midfielder, who is currently on loan at Sevilla from Manchester City, said: “You cannot criticise a guy like Wenger - It's impossible.

“I think people need to be fair, it's not his fault that Arsenal are in the position they are, it's the players. It's the players on the pitch that get the results.

“There are a lot of things happening at Arsenal - the board, the players - they need to be checked, not just Arsene.”

Nasri spent three seasons at Arsenal before making the controversial switch to City in 2011.

He won two Prem titles and a League Cup during his time at the Etihad – but admits it would not have been possible without Wenger’s influence.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he added: “It's hard for me to say anything about him because I owe him a lot.

“I came to the Premier League because of him, I had a good career because of him because he gave me confidence and he made me a better player.

“I think all the players that have played under him, when they leave they become better players so I don't think it's him.”
