Chelsea transfer news: Romelu Lukaku hints at Everton exit and Stamford Bridge return with Champions League tweet
Belgian ace strongly linked with move back to Stamford Bridge this summer as a potential replacement for Diego Costa
ROMELU LUKAKU has reportedly dropped a huge hint that he could be set for a return to Chelsea this summer.
The Everton striker left the Blues for a loan stint at Goodison Park in 2013 before making the move permanent a year later.
Lukaku has since gone on to become a smash hit for the Toffees, bagging an incredible 78 goals in just 153 appearances.
And this has led to alleged interest from his former employers, with Antonio Conte seeing Lukaku as an alternative to Diego Costa should the Spaniard leave for China.
Italian giants Juventus have also been linked, with chiefs at the Serie A club close to Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola.
It read: “UCL is where reputations are built… what a competition, what a game.”
Chelsea are all-but-guaranteed a place in Europe’s elite tournament next season as they lead the race for the title by eight points.
But much will depend on the future of Costa, with Conte’s Blues currently playing with just a single striker in a 3-4-3 formation.
