The midfielder's agent Liam Bowes, of OYS Sports Management, has revealed clubs were in touch with him while he was watching his client play against the Gunners.

Bowes told SunSport: "I was at the game on Monday night and I was receiving text messages from clubs asking about his availability."

Despite being a free agent in the summer, Deacon can speak to clubs now and agree a pre-contract.

Bowes added: "It's a crucial stage in Roarie's career, his next move needs to be right. He is playing in a good footballing team at Sutton and we want to make sure he continues that momentum in a similar environment."

SunSport understands The U's are keen to tie Deacon down to new deal at Gander Green Lane beyond this season, but the former England Under-19 star could decide his next move in the summer.

Bowes went on to reveal:"Roarie is in no rush to make any decisions now, his contract expires in the summer.
