Everton join Manchester City in race to sign Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Pep Guardiola and Ronald Koeman are admirers of the 23-year-old who has struggled to cement a place in Arsene Wenger's first team
MANCHESTER CITY and Everton are both eyeing up summer moves for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Arsenal midfielder has just a year remaining on his current deal and has struggled to become a regular first-team player in Arsene Wenger‘s starting XI.
According to , City chief Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the former Southampton man and still remembers his brilliant display against Bayern Munich two-and-a-half years ago.
Another of Oxlade-Chamberlain‘s admirers is Toffees boss Ronald Koeman, who will have a huge budget to spend on new players in the summer.
But Manchester United could also rival their north-west rivals in luring him away from the Emirates.
Jose Mourinho was reported to be plotting a £30million move for the England international – who has netted six times in 33 appearances this season.
The Ox fuelled rumours he is set to cut his time in north London short last year when he said he would think about his future in the summer.
He said: “There comes a time in your career where you have to re-evaluate things and think: ‘Is that going to be here or elsewhere?’
“As a footballer, you want to play every game. Me being myself, I’m not happy when I’m not playing.
“There is going to come a time in my career, and I think I’m approaching that, when I do need to be getting more regular football.”
The Southampton academy graduate’s natural position is on the wing but he can also operate in the centre of midfield.
