Arsene Wenger ready to fight back with host of world-class managers including Massimiliano Allegri and Eddie Howe poised to pounce on his Arsenal job
French boss, 67, says he wants to go on to be in management for longer than Sir Alex Ferguson, who retired in 2013 aged 71
ARSENE WENGER has revealed his preference is to stay at Arsenal.
The crushing 5-1 Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich made Wenger odds- on to not be in charge next season.
But the under-fire boss, who will decide his future in March or April, wants to carry on.

He said: “My preference is always to manage Arsenal and I’ve shown that throughout my time here.
“But I’m adult enough to analyse the situation.”
Wenger, 67, also wants to continue managing for LONGER than Sir Alex Ferguson.
Fergie retired as Manchester United boss in 2013 at the age of 71 — but Wenger has his eyes on beating the Scotman’s feat with Arsenal.
That would mean the Frenchman would continue in the Emirates Stadium hotseat for at least another FOUR years.
Wenger, who took the reins at Arsenal in 1996, said: “Ferguson had some other interests in life and was older than I am today.
“He was four years older, he retired at 71 and I’m 67.
“I do not want to take anything away from Ferguson, he was an absolutely unbelievable manager.
“But he had enough — and I’m not at that stage.”
