Arsenal No2 David Ospina gets the nod as Petr Cech is dropped for their crunch Champions League clash with Bayern Munich

Arsenal stars 'shocked' as David Ospina gets set to start between the sticks for Arsenal's trip to Bayern Munich

ARSENE WENGER looks set to drop Petr Cech in favour of reserve goalkeeper David Ospina for Wednesday's crunch champions league knock-out clash with Bayern Munich.

The Gunners boss is set to stick with the 28-year-old Colombian, who has started every European game this season.

has raised some eyebrows from senior Arsenal players, with Cech being the only player in the squad to have won the Champions League.

Ospina opted to stay at the Gunners as understudy last summer after he agreed a rotation system for Champions League and Premier League games, and Wenger looks to be true to his word.

A dicey performance in Munich could change the situation. Ospina was dropped from the side after defeats in last season's competition against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos.

Cech's recent form may also have reaffirmed Wenger's decision to pick his number two. The former Chelsea stopper has had some hairy moments in the Arsenal goal this season - including a high-profile error in the 3-1 defeat to his former employers - perhaps suggesting his best days may be behind him.

However, given the magnitude of the Bayern tie and Cech's performance in last season's 2-0 group stage win at the Emirates, and of course THAT night in Munich in 2012, is Wenger missing a trick?

These next two weeks could define Arsenal's season and Arsene Wenger's tenure at Arsenal.

Speaking over the weekend, the Gunners boss called for unity across the club, and said:"We want to do well in all three competitions. That's why it's important we focus and respond and get our fans behind the team."

What is certain - an early Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern - and some Arsenal fans will be screaming for Wenger to exit the Arsenal turnstiles.
