TIANJIN QUANJIN are preparing a £21.5million bid for Ever Banega, according to reports in Spain.

Fabio Cannavaro’s side are desperate to bring another big-name player ahead of the new Chinese Super League season.

They have tried to sign Diego Costa and even looked at Fiorentina frontman, Nikola Kalinic.

However, they have so far failed in their pursuit.

Quanjin’s recently played a pre-season against Serie B strugglers, Pisa, and blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2.

And now, local Seville newspaper, ,  report that Cannavaro has now turned his Inter Milan midfielder, Banega — and is preparing a £21.5m bid.

Should the deal go through, the Argentine could expect to earn a tidy £131,000-a-week.

The club have signed Alexandre Pato and Axel Witsel but the Italian knows the his side still need one more big name to improve the squad and compete with their rivals, who have also strengthened.

Banega, 28, moved to Inter Milan on a free transfer in the summer after two impressive seasons at Sevilla.

The season will officially start next month — and Guangzhou Evergrande are the current champions.

Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad includes the likes of Paulinho and Jackson Martinez.

This season’s Chinese Super League is highly-anticipated with a spate of big summer arrivals.

Oscar and Carlos Tevez were the most expensive signings — with the latter now the highest-paid player in the world.
