The West Brom midfielder, signed from Hull for £10million last month, is looking to help his side pull away from West Ham on Saturday.

He said: “I enjoy restoring classic cars in my spare time.

“My dad always liked them growing up — and I’ve always been very close to my father.

“We’re going through a project now, which keeps us close.

“It’s great to be able to pick up your phone to talk about good performances on a Saturday and getting a great win.

“But it’s also nice to pick up the phone and sometimes share different interests as well.

“I drive one myself, a Series 1 E-Type. But the idea is to keep them for my kids and grandkids in years to come.”
