Celtic legend Georgios Samaras joins Spanish side Real Zaragoza after leaving Rayo OKC

The Parkhead fans' favourite has been without a club since since his US adventure turned sour at the end of last year

GEORGIOS SAMARAS has agreed to join Real Zaragoza until the end of the season.

The former Celtic favourite will have a medical with the Segunda Division side on Wednesday.

Samaras, 31, has been without a club since US side Rayo OKC went bust at the end of last year.

He was linked with a surprise return to Scotland with Hibernian during the January window, but former Hoops boss Neil Lennon denied any interest in his signing his former teammate.

The Greek international spent six highly successful years at Parkhead and won four titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup winners' medal.

Zaragoza currently sit just off the play-off places and manager Raul Agne was desperate to add the 81-times capped forward as his side push for promotion to La Liga.
