And as it was the early kick-off on Saturday, Courtois' weekend was only just getting started as he took an eight hour flight to the Big Apple to watch his favourite basketball team in action - the New York Knicks.

Courtois was in front row seats for kick-off at the famous Madison Square Gardens which got underway at 8:30pm.

As the time difference in New York is five hours behind, Courtois was able to catch a flight in time to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers triumph 111-104.

If that wasn't enough Courtois finally had time to rest before making the 1630 mile trip to Houston, Texas to watch the Super Bowl just 22 hours later.

It was well worth the trip as the keeper witnessed one of the greatest Super Bowl comebacks in history as the New England Patriots fought back from 28-3 down to beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime.

The 24-year-old took to Twitter to update his 1.66million followers on his amazing trip after uploading pictures of his VIP seat at the basketball before writing: "What a comeback! Congrats to @Patriots!! Fantastic live experience!!."

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will now be expecting a jet-lagged Courtois back in training this week ahead of their clash against Burnley next weekend.
