MARCELO has lashed out in fury at online trolls accusing him of favouring Neymar over Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Brazil full-back wished his compatriot and Barcelona rival happy birthday on Instagram - minutes BEFORE he did the same to Ronaldo.

Fans called Marcelo "rude" and demanded to know why he had not sent his wishes to his club team-mate first.

Ronaldo was calmed down at full-time though, with reporting Real president Florentino Perez met with him to reassure him of the club's backing.

The forward recognises he receives the flak when things go wrong, but does not understand why.
