MANCHESTER CITY have firmly denied that Sergio Aguero could leave the club this summer.
The Argentine striker had Blues fans worried following an interview he gave after the 2-1 victory over Swansea on Sunday.
Aguero, who was named on the bench for the second successive game, said that “the club will decide if I have a place here or not” to spark speculation he could be offloaded at the end of the season.

When quizzed on his future after the game, Aguero revealed that he could potentially leave the Citizens at the end of the season unless he can regain his place.
He said: “I have to help the team as much as I can in these three months, afterwards we’ll see what the club wants to do with me.
“In these last three months that are left I have to help the club and as I say the club will decide if I have a place here or not.
“Now I have to watch what he [Gabriel Jesus] does, to learn a little. I am how I am. I have spent a lot of years in Europe playing this way.
“When you’re on the bench you have to wait for your opportunity. I have three months to do my best and help the team and we’ll see what happens.”
But highly-placed club source told : “There is no vagueness about our position. We want Sergio to stay.
“Pep has repeatedly said he is an important player for us, and if Sergio is saying it is down to the club, well the club really wants him to stay.
“No-one here wants him to leave, and Pep has been explicit about that.”
Aguero signed a one-year contract extension last summer to tie him to City until 2020.
But that has not stopped a number of Europe’s big guns from being linked with a move for the 28-year-old.
Chelsea are the latest side reported to be monitoring his situation, joining Spanish giants Real and Atletico Madrid plus Italian champions Juventus.
