GABRIEL JESUS netted a last-gasp winner as Manchester City left it late to beat relegation-threatened Swansea.

Gabriel Jesus got City off to a flying start in the 11th-minute, reacting quickest to stab home from a scramble in the six-yard box, as Guardiola and Co reaped the rewards for dominating the early exchanges.

In a complete contrast to the first 45 minutes - where City had around 75 per cent of possession - it was the visitors who looked most dangerous early in the second half.

So it was hardly a surprise when Paul Clement's Swans made City pay thanks to a stunning left-footed strike by Sigurdsson from outside the box to equalise with just ten minutes to play.

With little time left on the clock, it seemed neither side would beable to find an elusive winner, until substitute Sergio Aguero had his powerful header parried by Lukasz Fabianksi only as far as Jesus, who poked home the winner .

STATS, FACTS, GOALS & LOLS

    • PEP GUARDIOLA has made 80 changes to his starting line-up this season, 15 more than any other Premier League manager. Today he only made two - much to the annoyance of Messrs Aguero, Kompany Bravo and others.
    • GUARDIOLA has never hidden his admiration of Fernandinho - touting him as a possible centre back in the past. It was a surprise to see him lining up at right back though.
    • THIS has not been a happy hunting ground for the Swans - since getting promoted they have played here five times - lost five and scored only two.

    • IN fact the last time they won here was way back in 1951 - not sure if Guardiola knew that when he described this as one of the most difficult games City have left.
    • GABRIEL JESUS is the fifth player to score on his first two Premier League games for City - following in the footsteps of Geovanni, Robinho, De Bruyne and Adebayor.
    • A PENNY for Sergio Aguero's thoughts on it though - the Argentine rarely speaks to the English press - but must be wondering what the future holds for him at the Etihad.

  • DOES Raheem Sterling's reputation go before him now? When he went over Fabianski's legs it was debatable whether it was a penalty - but surely it wasn't a dive either. Fair to say Guardiola was not impressed by the yellow card.
  • HOW ironic - Sterling was told he was 'too honest' in the last game here against Spurs when he didn't go down under Kyle Walker's push. Now he's a diver - apparently.
  • GAMES at the Etihad seem to follow a similar plot - the home side dominate but fail to finish off their opponents and end up clinging on.

  • LIKE Guardiola says, you can already see the effect Clement has had on Swansea - City found it very difficult to break them down and the floodgates never opened.
  • THEIR own defensive frailties were evident as Swansea grabbed the equaliser - with Clichy failing to clear his lines and Sigurdsson profiting.
