And ever since fans of the Premier League saw what he was capable of there has been one joke that has followed him were ever he goes - that Kante has covered almost every corner of planet Earth.
Kante has now responded to the gags.
But the humble midfielder downplayed his impact.
He wrote: "it's just football my friends.
"There are more important things covering the Earth."
Kante's side take on Arsenal this Saturday at Stamford Bridge in a clash that could decide the title as early as February.
Recently Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has relieved that the North London club failed to sign the Frenchman in the summer.
If Arsenal lose the upcoming match their title challenge could be over before it had a chance to begin.
