Harry Kane fears for Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United with Zlatan Ibrahimovic around

Spurs striker says bringing in the big names does not always work when there is already talent on the bench

HARRY KANE hopes Marcus Rashford won't be the forgotten man at Manchester United with Zlatan Ibrahimovic around.

The 19-year-old was one of United's stars last season after being given a chance to shine in the Europa League under then boss Louis van Gaal.

A brace in his first European start, first Premier League start and another goal in his England debut put Rashford on the road to greatness.

But Ibrahimovic's move from Paris Saint-Germain has seen him usurp the teenager in boss Jose Mourinho's plans.

And fellow England frontman Kane fears Rashford's growth into a goalscoring legend could be stunted by the Swede's arrival.

Speaking to the , Spurs striker Kane said: "It's difficult for Man United as they had dominated the league for so long and then all of a sudden that's over.

"They are trying to get back into contention and they feel the best way is by getting a big manager to buy big players. It doesn't always work.

"It may do but we will have to see.

"Marcus is a fantastic player and hopefully he won't get pushed into the background.

"He will need opportunities and I hope he gets them.

"I guarantee you there are so many players in academies who are good enough.

"Hopefully what has happened to me, and the way it happened, can show that."
