Lucas Hernandez ‘arrested on domestic abuse charge’ – but Atletico Madrid defender claims his partner fell accidentally

ATLETICO MADRID defender Lucas Hernandez has been arrested on a domestic abuse charge, according to multiple reports in Spain.
But defending himself later in the day, the 20-year-old claims that his partner fell accidentally after a heated argument.
Police arrived at Hernandez's home in the swanky Molino de la Hoz at around 2.30am on Friday morning.
According to Spanish newspaper , the centre-back is alleged to have returned home drunk and got involved in a heated argument with his girlfriend.
She was later taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries - initial reports in Spain stated that Hernandez had 'beat' or 'assaulted' her.
But later, reported that Lucas claimed his partner fell.
According to Lucas, he had been having dinner with team-mates before getting home late.
His girlfriend blamed him for it and, he says, struck his car.
She then fell and suffered minor injuries.
His partner has still not yet filed a complaint according to the latest reports.
The France U21 international left his house without any resistance, before being transferred to the Civil Guard.
He spent the night in custody.
Hernandez was moved to Majadahonda magistrates court where a judge will determine if a criminal proceeding is to be initiated.
He was pictured leaving later on Friday afternoon.
The judge could also hand the centre-back a restraining order and prohibit him from communicating with the woman.
Atletico are yet to make a statement on the incident.

Lucas' father Jean-Francois was also a professional footballer, playing for Atletico Madrid in 2000-01.
The defender was born in Marseille, while his dad played there in Ligue 1.
He came through the youth ranks at Atletico, making his first team in December 2014.
The 20-year-old has had to bide his time under Diego Simeone, playing just 15 league matches in the last two seasons.
However, he is seen as a massive part of the club's future.
Hernandez came on in extra-time of the Champions League final against rivals Real Madrid last May.
He has five caps for France U21s and has represented the nation at every level from U16.
