Burnley transfer news: Clarets hoping to seal a £13m deal for Norwich’s Republic of Ireland ace Robbie Brady
BURNLEY hope to push through a £13million deal to bring in Robbie Brady from Norwich City after the Canaries signed Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks on loan.
Sunderland are also interested in the Republic of Ireland star, but look likely to pull out of the running for the 25-year-old due to injuries in their attack.
The strugglers are desperate for a new striker and are plotting a move for Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa, putting the Clarets firmly in the driving seat for the full-back.
Brady, who is equally adapt playing as a winger, has been at Championship side Norwich since 2015 and has made over 60 appearances since his arrival from Hull City.
He has won 31 caps for his country, including appearances at last year’s Euro 2016, and has hit the net seven times.
Sean Dyche’s Burnley are bang on course to survive in the top-flight thanks to their impressive home record.
However, on the road they have lacked a cutting edge and the arrival of Brady could prove to help them become more effective on the road.
Brady came through Manchester United’s youth system before his switch to the KC Stadium in 2013 following two successful loan spells there.
He is expected to complete his move to Lancashire before Tuesday night’s transfer deadline slams shut.
This season he has bagged four goals in 27 matches for Alex Neil’s men.
