Earlier in the day Nice returned to the summit with former Liverpool and Man City forward Balotelli grabbing the third in a 3-1 win over Guingamp.

But Leonardo Jardim’s side stunned PSG in the French capital with a last-gasp goal out of nowhere that put Monaco top, left Nice in second and left the Paris side languishing in third.

Cavani was his wasteful worst in the first half, passing up a handful of chances to give the home side the lead.

The resurgent Radamel Falcao almost continued his personal renaissance when he should have scored at the star of the second half but Trapp one their one-on-one encounter.

Ten minutes before the end and new boy Julian Draxler stepped up to cointinue his impressive start to his PSG career.

The German World Cup winner skipped into the box before Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe hauled him down.

Cavani – somehow unaffected by his handful of misses from 80 minutes of open play – stepped up to fire home the spot-kick.

But PSG crumbled with seconds remaining when Silva was allowed to walk through the midfield and chance his arm with a scuffed shot that bounced past Trapp.
