Chelsea want Real Madrid striker, Arsenal defender wants to leave and Boro want Villa starlet
THE clock is ticking fast towards next week's transfer deadline and clubs are beginning to scramble for new talent.
It's make-or-break time for many, with either hopes of a title challenge or great escape from the drop in need of a boost.
And after a slow start, things are starting to pick-up in the Premier League market.
We've got news on a potential goalkeeper move, Chelsea wanting a Real Madrid striker, and a player wanting to move away from Arsenal.
SunSport brings you all the latest transfer news, rumours and deals in the January transfer window, brought to you in association with Toolstation.
GORDON LATEST
CRAIG GORDON is set for crunch talks over his Celtic future today, with Chelsea poised to make a second bid for the keeper.
Gordon is wanted by the Premier League giants as back-up for No1 Thibaut Courtois.
Antonio Conte saw the Blues’ initial £3million offer kicked out yesterday.
And the Blues have their eyes on Newcastle keeper Karl Darlow in case they fail to land Gordon.
MORATA THE REAL DEAL
ARSENAL and Chelsea have been put on high alert after Alvaro Morata told his agent to find him a new club.
The Spaniard has reportedly had a huge falling out with boss Zinedine Zidane over his lack of playing time and ‘feels cheated’ over summer promises.
But the 24-year-old has started just six league matches and with the impending return of Gareth Bale from injury, his chances to become a first-team regular are set to drop even further.
SunSport exclusively revealed that Conte would be willing to sanction the sale of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid, if they can get Morata in return. And then he wants to replace the Belgian with Manchester City's Joe Hart.
Or Conte could be looking for a new striker to replace Diego Costa who is tempted with a huge money offer from China.
DE-BYE-CHY
ARSENAL outcast Mathieu Debuchy is reportedly trying to engineer a return to France before next week’s transfer deadline.
The right-back is not in Arsene Wenger’s plans for the rest of the season following Gabriel’s impressive spell in the role.
Debuchy and Wenger’s relationship is barely existent these days, with the defender revealing the pair hardly say a word to each other at the training ground.
Debuchy claimed: “We acknowledge each other, we say hello – nothing more."
GREALLY WANTS TO GO
Boro boss Aitor Karanka has ripped into Ramirez over his demand to quit the Riverside for a move to Premier League champions Leicester and he looks to be already planning his replacement.
AAN HIS WAY
CRYSTAL PALACE are on the verge of signing Patrick Van Aanholt from Sunderland for £14million.
The Eagles have been desperate to solve their left-back crisis with the Black Cats begrudgingly accepted fellow Premier League strugglers offer.
Palace boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed Van Aanholt is currently undergoing a medical and will complete the formalities of his transfer later on Friday.
And the Black Cats have approached Bordeaux about a loan deal for German left-back Diego Contento – to fill the gap left by Van Aanholt.
WHAT THE FALC
RADAMEL FALCAO claims he’s rejected THREE big-money offers to join the Chinese Super League revolution.
The former Manchester United and Chelsea flop is enjoying one of the best spells of his career back at Monaco, scoring 18 goals in 22 appearances this season.
And the 30-year-old’s fine run has attracted serious interest from some of China’s top teams, who will stop at nothing to ensure the deadliest attackers in the world end up in the Far East.
Diego Costa was the subject of a stunning bid from Tianjin Quanjian while Wayne Rooney has been lined up to join Carlos Tevez at Shanghai Shenhua.
But Falcao insists he was not tempted to take up any of the Oriental offers in order to continue enjoying his football with Ligue 1 leaders Monaco.
GRIEZ A SLIPPERY CUSTOMER
INTER MILAN are ready to rival Manchester United’s pursuit of Antoine Griezmann – with a £110million bid for the France star.
According to reports, the newly cash-rich club, who have a 68 per cent holding from Chinese group Suning, are looking to land a world class star in the summer.
And the bad news for former Inter boss Jose Mourinho is that they are ready to swoop Griezmann from under the noses of the Manchester United boss.
