Manchester United transfer news: Wayne Rooney offered Chinese Super League wages of £600k-a-WEEK by Shanghai Shenhua
Red Devils captain could be heading to Chinese Super League for mind-boggling wages after losing place at Old Trafford
WAYNE ROONEY has become the latest superstar to be offered mind-blowing wages by a Chinese Super League team.
SunSport exclusively revealed the Manchester United and England captain is a target for Far East clubs after slipping down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
Stars including Carlos Tevez and Oscar have already been tempted by the riches on offer this month.
And Red Devils boss Mourinho admitted on Monday that he would not block Rooney from leaving Old Trafford.
Whether the veteran fancies a final payday in China remains to be seen, but claims Rooney has the chance to earn a staggering £600,000-a-WEEK with Shanghai Shenhua.
It’s the same club which lured Argentine icon Tevez from Boca Juniors at the start of the year.
And Gus Poyet’s side also boasts more ex-Premier League players in Demba Ba and Obafemi Martins.
It means there’s a prospect of Rooney linking up with his old United striker partner Tevez, with the duo winning two titles and the Champions League together.
Shanghai Shenua are also sitting pretty in fourth in the CSL table, although they’ll have to work hard to close the gap on Guangzhou Evergrande who they trail by 16 points.
