Rodriguez also insists Spurs are prepared to sell Alli to United, but only for a world record fee of £100million - shattering the record fee shelled out by the club for Paul Pogba from Juventus last August.

Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is another Mourinho target this summer as the United boss plans an overhaul of the squad.

Alli has continued his brilliant form for the North Londoners. He has already surpassed last season's goal tally of 11 for club and country, bagging 13 goals so far this term.

Mourinho has lamented United's goal shy attack this season, with the Red Devils having scored just 33 league goals in 22 games this season.

More concerning is Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 14 with Juan Mata and Paul Pogba both with four next up.

Mourinho will know he needs more goals in the squad next season to mount a serious title challenge and Rodriguez believes the Portuguese has identified a man to help.
