Peter Kenyon: Inter Milan owners Suning to make ex-Manchester United and Chelsea CEO their ‘global adviser’

Businessman serving interests of Chinese consortium after recently trying to broke Middlesbrough takeover

PETER KENYON is set to be appointed ‘global adviser’ at Inter Milan’s Chinese owners Suning Holdings Group.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive will be tasked with helping to develop the group’s business across the globe, according to .

Suning took a 68.5 per cent controlling stake at Inter last summer which saw the Italians splash out on big names including Antonio Candreva, Joao Mario and Gabriel Barbosa.

Kenyon will also play the same role at Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning and any other future clubs, with Suning currently looking to make moves in Portugal and Belgium.

Controversial agent Kia Joorabchian helped set up the partnership after dealing with Kenyon on multiple occasions both in England and abroad.

Kenyon is seen as one of the top business heads in the game after helping United and Chelsea reach global status under his leadership.

Kenyon’s influence saw United spend more money on transfers and wages while become one of the world’s most profitable teams.

He also helped Chelsea land Jose Mourinho and brokered big deals for the club as the Blues built the foundations for their current success.

Kenyon has since been working as an adviser at Middlesbrough, and SunSport exclusively revealed he’d led negotiations for a failed Chinese takeover at the Riverside Stadium earlier this week.
